Nihidzill, meaning "Our Strength" in Navajo, is a creative project by artist Carissa Eich
dedicated to celebrating and preserving the beauty of Indigenous culture through digital art.
By blending photography and graphic design, the project highlights the rich traditions,
stories, and connections to nature that are central to Navajo heritage. Each composition
serves as a visual narrative, offering insight into the resilience and spirit of Indigenous
communities. Nihidzill seeks to bridge cultural divides, encouraging viewers to engage
thoughtfully with themes of identity, history, and the natural world. The project aims to foster
understanding and appreciation for diverse perspectives, creating a space for meaningful
dialogue and connection.
Carissa Eich is the artist behind Nihidzill—meaning “Our Strength” in the Diné (Navajo) language. Currently, she is a student attending Arizona State University, pursuing a bachelor’s degree in graphic information technology. She creates Indigenous contemporary art with photography and digital media as her main mediums. From landscapes of the Navajo Nation reservation to items such as moccasins and feathers, Carissa Eich cultivates her artwork to engage her audience in connecting with her Indigenous identity. Her goal is to spread a message about Indigenous resilience and growth through her artwork in the modern art world.
